Finding an honest MOT garage in Basingstoke is like looking for a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. I've had local garages deliberately slice CV gaiters, pop off clips and destroy ball joints in an attempt to generate work. I dread MOT time in Basingstoke. This year a friend suggested I try Andy Shore, a garage I'd never used before. I cannot emphasise enough how brilliant the service was. They turned out to be a good, honest garage making their money through genuine good quality work. My car needed some work to the handbrake cables after it was discovered the last garage to work on the vehicle had not done their job properly. This was carried out quickly and priced fairly, and the team were simply brilliant. I will definitely be using them again and recommending them to everyone.

    Being a woman that knows little about cars, it is nice to find a garage who you can trust. The staff at the garage took time to explain areas of concern and what action needed to be taken. I received a fair price with a detailed description of the work to be carried out. The staff are polite, helpful and they were able to see me on very short notice. With winter approaching, they also gave me advice on what to look out for and what to check. I have been using the garage for the past year and I have always found the service good and the work to be high grade. I have already recommended the service to a colleague, as he was telling me an MOT horror story where he felt he had been put in a position by a garage, because he had been forced to spend more than he should for tyres due to them being pushy and not giving him the chance to shop around. I hope this goes some way to thank them for their hard work.

Andy Shore provided an excellent service, provided a free loan car whilst mine was in for repair. They kept me fully updated throughout and when I collected my car was both surprised and delighted that having initially quoted over £900 for the necessary repairs presented me with a bill for a lower cost of £886.35. The car was also returned cleaned and in excellent order. I have always been impressed by the staff's technical ability and also their honesty in that they will not do any unnecessary work and let you know why it has not been required. This has been a 'god-send' to non mechanically minded people like me for over 20 years that I have been taking various cars I have owned to them for service/ repair. Top marks all round.

Once again, Andy Shore comes up trumps. On Sunday there was a grinding noise from the power steering. I took it in on Monday, and received constant updates while they assessed the problem. I got the car back today, Tuesday. Excellent, not patronising and good value, what customer service should be.
